The fifth entry in the Mana series game

Visions of Mana is the fifth single-player role-playing game in the Mana franchise after Heroes of Mana. It is the first non-remake entry in this game collection, making it a standalone game compared to the previously released series. Developed by Square Enix, it features the Mana sequence action-RPG roots and an expansive and vibrant adventure in a semi-open field.

Visions of Mana is similar to popular games like FINAL FANTASY XVI, Star Wars Outlaws, DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, and Black Myth: Wukong wherein you can delve into the open world, unveil the truth, and save it.

Explore a semi-open world

Visions of Mana’s plot revolves around the protagonist Val and his childhood friend Hinna, who’s the newly appointed Alm of Fire. In this game series, the Alm of Fire is like a chosen leader who has a mission to travel to the Tree of Mana and restore the flow of it. The Tree of Mana is a world tree providing life to the semi-open world in this game anthology.

This game has five characters with their own fighting styles, which are the aerial slashes Val, the wind magic user Careena, the sword user Morley, the martial artist Palamena, and the spectral dagger Julei. All of them have their own personalities and backstories. You can build your own three-person team while in battle, switching between the five protagonists. Aside from Hinna, you can choose Ramcoh or Aesh to support you.

Players can use combats such as one-button combos, heavy attacks, and dodge rolls to fight against the antagonistic forces threatening the world of Mana. This game sequence also has elemental vessel systems like Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, and many more. Its combat system allows class switching and build customization, adding depth to the gameplay. However, there’s no distinguishable battle mechanics that would make it shine among other similar games.

Harness the power of elemental spirits

Visions of Mana is a must-try game for players who want to explore a semi-open world. With its vibrant graphics, it can provide you with a thrilling adventure in the world of elemental spirits. It’s an action-RPG game, with a focus on hack-and-slash gameplay that mixes magic-based combat. With five characters and three battle companions to choose from, you can switch between these options and customize your gameplay.
